Format guide
What is HEIC to JPG conversion?
HEIC stores high-quality photos in a smaller file than traditional JPEG, which is why recent iPhones use it by default. The trade-off is compatibility: older Windows software, upload forms, printers and editing apps may not recognize an HEIC file.
Converting HEIC to JPG decodes the original photo and creates a standard JPEG copy that opens almost everywhere. The pixel dimensions are preserved, orientation is applied correctly and private camera metadata is not copied into the result.
When should I use it?
- Upload an iPhone photo to a website that accepts JPG but rejects HEIC.
- Open or edit a phone photo in older Windows or desktop software.
- Send a widely compatible image to a printer, client or support team.
How it works
- 1Upload
Choose the supported file or files from your device.
- 2Process
The server validates the real file type and runs this operation.
- 3Download
Save the result. Temporary working files are deleted automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Why do iPhones use HEIC?
HEIC usually keeps similar visual quality in less storage space than JPEG and can hold modern camera information efficiently.
Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of recompression is unavoidable. The converter uses a high-quality setting to keep visible changes minimal.
Can Windows open the converted image?
Yes. JPG is supported by current and older versions of Windows, browsers, office software and most photo applications.
