Format guide
What is PNG to JPG conversion?
PNG uses lossless compression and supports transparency, which makes it excellent for graphics and screenshots but unnecessarily large for many photographs. JPG is usually smaller and is accepted by almost every image upload and document workflow.
This tool converts the PNG at its original dimensions using a high-quality JPEG setting. Transparent pixels cannot exist in JPG, so they are placed on a white background. Text metadata and other private image fields are not copied.
When should I use it?
- Reduce the size of a photographic PNG before sending it by email.
- Prepare an image for a form or marketplace that accepts JPG only.
- Turn a transparency-free PNG into a universally compatible photo file.
How it works
- 1Upload
Choose the supported file or files from your device.
- 2Process
The server validates the real file type and runs this operation.
- 3Download
Save the result. Temporary working files are deleted automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Will PNG transparency stay transparent?
No. JPG has no transparency support, so transparent areas become white.
Is JPG always smaller than PNG?
It is commonly smaller for photographs, but simple graphics and flat-color screenshots can already be efficient as PNG.
Does conversion change the dimensions?
No. Width and height remain the same unless you use the separate resize tool.
