How it works

From the original photo to a clean copy

ExifGone checks hidden photo data, rebuilds the file without it and lets you cover visible private details before downloading.

  1. 1

    Choose one photo

Upload a JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC or HEIF file up to 25 MB. The original on your device is never modified.

  2. 2

    Review the metadata report

The service checks for categories such as GPS location, camera and device details, capture date, authorship fields, XMP/IPTC data and embedded thumbnails.

  3. 3

    Optionally redact a visible area

Metadata removal cannot hide text, faces, documents or license plates visible in the image. Add a rectangular area and choose pixelation or a solid fill when you need to cover one of these details.

  4. 4

Download or create a protected link

ExifGone keeps the original format when it can be processed safely. HDR HEIC/HEIF and resource-heavy non-JPEG photos use a clearly disclosed full-resolution, maximum-quality JPEG fallback. From any supported result, you can also create a protected link with a separate JPEG display derivative, a 1, 5, 12 or 24-hour lifetime and an optional one-time viewing window.

  5. 5

    Temporary files are deleted

The server removes the original, preview and generated copy automatically within 30 minutes. An explicitly created protected display copy is separate and is deleted at its selected expiry, when its one-time view ends or when you revoke it.
